“I really wish I had been in the Beatles,” Gilmour reveals   “[They] taught me how to play guitar; I learnt everything. The bass parts, the lead, the rhythm, everything. They were fantastic.”

Birth: 6 March 1946 (age 78), Cambridge, United Kingdom

Though more lush than the original, his cover is faithful up to his soulful guitar solo, a Gilmour trademark. Mojo says the guitarist sent them his cover of “Here, There and Everywhere” two years ago but needed some convincing before he agreed to let them release it.

David Gilmour is no stranger to Paul McCartney’s solo work. He lent fine and very Gilmour-guitar solos to tracks from two Eighties McCartney albums, 1984’s Give My Regards to Broad Street and 1989’s Flowers in the Dirt. Also in 1999 McCartney, Gilmour and Paice along with Mick Green and Pete Wingfield appeared on the BBC talk show Parkinson.

That love is manifested as well when he playd with Mccartney (Live at The Cavern Club) for a live album and gig, and just help Paul after Linda's dead  to  record Run Devil Run, a studio album of mostly Fifties covers with a few original tunes thrown in.

I guess this simply reinforces the ground-breaking nature of The Beatles.  You sometimes forget how many rules they broke.  How “out there” they really pushed the envelope.  How different their early rocker image was to mainstream society.  You kind of take these things for granted with hindsight.  About McCartney Gilmour also sayd:  I should have around one hundred and twelve million euros, much more than I need. McCartney has more than seven hundred million euros, to live he uses one hundred and forty. I do not understand what the other five hundred and sixty are for: ".
