Baby you can drive my car! Sir Paul McCartney's offer by paying £1.3m for a 1964 Aston Martin DB5 the ex-Beatle once owned and made it famous by 007

The iconic, stunning model was owned by Sir Paul at the height of Beatlemania just after he finished filming A Hard Day's Night.

The car was delivered to McCartney's drive just a few days after the premiere of Goldfinpaulger where Sean Connery had immortalised the DB5.

Considered one of the most beautiful cars of all time, Sir Paul's 1964 model has a built-in Philips record player so you can play The Beatles' hits on your road trip.

It also has the registration '64 MAC' after its famous former owner and boasts a Motorola radio player. One of the most British cars to ever go up for sale will be auctioned at Bonhams in London, England on Dec. 2. It’s a 1964 Aston Martin DB5 that was purchased new by iconic Beatles frontman Sir Paul McCartney. Incidentally, this particular Aston was also owned by slightly less-iconic Brit Chris Harris, one of the hosts of /DRIVE on NBC Sports.

he also owned an Aston M db6

The first took delivery of the DB5 on 22nd September, he handed over £3,800 and 10 shillings plus Purchase Tax of £793, 6 shillings and 8 pence (around £88,000 today, according to the This is Money prices and inflation calculator) - a snip of what it's worth today.

Recently Sir Paul told press that  the star’s backstage rider now consists of a bag of chocolate raisins and some cashew nuts. The former Beatle says he waits until after gigs to drink a glass of wine. He also gave up cannabis because he wanted to set a good example to his grandchildren, the former Beatles singer has claimed.

Sir Paul used to enjoy wine and beer during his days with The Beatles and on the road with Wings in the Sixties and Seventies. “I used to try that, particularly in the early days of Wings when we would tour. But it didn’t work – I would just forget the lyrics I didn’t know anyway.”

“I don’t eat or drink before I go on because I sort of like to feel light,” he shared. “Then afterwards I can get heavy and have a drink. Before I go on I don’t do that.
“But I do have little sort of snacky things in the dressing room that I might just grab, like chocolate covered raisins and equal amount of salted cashews.”

In his rider he demands 19 leafy six-foot plants, four leafy four-foot plants, vegetarian catering only and absolutely no animal by-products anywhere — including the furniture and carpets.
