Legendary Beatle Paul McCartney  the lad of lads, the Beatles precocious imp, Fab Macca Wacky Thumbs Aloft,  is turning 76 years old.

There are several clues  of something important is boiling up on the occasion of his birthday on June 18.  The Beatle was spotted in Liverpool around the city with James Corden before surprising fans at the Philharmonic pub with a gig by playing a new song.  Crowds gathered in Hope Street in afternoon as Paul McCartney played a gig  as part of his surprise visit to Liverpool.

McCartney was seen roaming the city with James Corden in the hours before the show and the pair were spotted taking selfies outside some of the city’s biggest landmarks – including the Beatles statue at the Pier Head.

Fans have speculated that Corden’s presence indicates the pair were filming an segment for The Late Late Show.

McCartney’s nostalgic return was filmed for a segment for “The Late Late Show with James Corden.” The last time he visited this spot was in 1964, as The Beatles were achieving international superstardom.on

McCartney had previously explained why he was in no rush to visit the three-bedroom house that he shared with his father, mother and younger brother Michael. “I don’t know whether I will be a little worried that it’ll be too nostalgic or whether there will be a sadness about it that I don’t associate with it at the moment. But I think I will one of these days,” he had said.

McCartney usually visits the city for the graduation of the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts (LIPA), of which he is a co-founder, and those visits are usually known in advance. “

Maybe his  new record will be released on his birthday or just soon after?

“This visit was a shock because we didn’t know he was here. And he just walked to us as we were taking the pictures. About 30-40 people were around, maybe. And he just stood and got pictures with everybody at the statue. He stood by himself.”
