Mick Jagger and Charlie Watts have lifted the lid on the pre-show rituals they each undergo prior to going on stage with The Rolling Stones.(NME)

Speaking ahead of the tour, Jagger explained to AP that he likes to get in his element before every Rolling Stones show.

“Backstage before the show, I like to relax and chill out,” he said. “Just before the show, I get all like, ‘Ahh!’ So, sometimes I like to get everybody out of the room for a minute and just calm down and do my singing.

“I have Bob Marley things that I kind of sometimes do and move around to. And then I do a dance warm-up: I do a couple of, like, current tunes for a dance warm-up.”

Watts, meanwhile, revealed that he and Keith Richards often spend time together before a Stones show.

“I usually play Duke Ellington, and then I go into Keith [Richards] who plays Little Richard, usually.”

Jagger’s reference to “current tunes” was laid bare in a video he recently uploaded to his Twitter account, which showed him dancing on stage before the Stones’ Dublin gig to Joey Purp’s ‘Girls @’.
