The singer shared her feelings on dad Billy Ray Cyrus' romance with Elizabeth Hurley during the latest episode of the Interview podcast.
"At first, it's hard because the little kid in you reacts before the adult in you can go, 'Yes, that's your dad, but that's just another person that deserves to be in his bliss and to be happy,'" she shared.
"So my adult self has caught up."
The Flowers hitmaker also confirmed she and her father are no longer estranged after their reunion at her brother Braison's 31st birthday party last month.
The father-daughter rift reportedly dates back to 2022 when Billy Ray and Miley's mum, Tish Cyrus, announced they were divorcing after nearly 30 years of marriage.
"My mom's really loved my dad for her whole life," she shared, admitting that she "took on some of mom's hurt" during her parents' breakup.
"But now my mom is like so in love with my stepdad Dom, who I also just completely adore. And now that my dad, I see him finding happiness outside of that too, I can love them both as individuals instead of as a kind of, you know, a parental pairing," she said.
Miley Cyrus is putting family first. On the heels of dropping her new single, the ballad “More to Lose,” the singer released a statement on Saturday (May 10) in response to rumors of a rift with parents Tish and Billy Ray.
“I rarely comment on rumors,” Miley noted in an update shared via Instagram Story on her official account. “But my mama and I are too tight for anything to ever come between us. She’s my best friend.”
“Like a lot of moms, she doesn’t know how to work her phone and somehow unfollowed me–simple, coincidental, and uninteresting,” she said, in reference to murmurs that Tish had reportedly unfollowed her on the social media app earlier this week.

The couple first sparked dating rumors on Easter when they shared an affectionate photo on Instagram.
Her statement continued: “My dad and I have had our challenges over the years. Now, in my thirties, family is my priority above all else. I’m at peace knowing bridges have been built and time has done a lot of healing.”
