Bruce Springsteen and Courteney Cox reunited more than four decades after she was cast in the music video for his 1984 smash “Dancing in the Dark.”
Their reunion happened at the US Open men’s singles final in New York Sunday, and while brief, it was nostalgic. Actor <Ben Stiller was sitting a row behind.
During the match between Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner, Cox, 61, sweetly walked up to the Boss, 75, to greet him as he sat next to his daughter, Jessica, 33, and their interaction was caught on tape. (New York Post)
In the clip, the “Friends” star was seen bending down to embrace Springsteen, who had a giant smile on his face.
The two embraced while they exchanged words as Cox waved and shook hands with his daughter before walking away to take her seat. Singer Pink was in the row below the “Hungry Heart” singer at the star-studded event.
The rock icon, who was dressed in a gray suit and with his black sunglasses on, appeared happy to see his former dancing queen; although, Cox once admitted she had secretly hoped she wouldn’t be cast in his iconic music video.

The then-unknown Cox was selected for “Dancing in the Dark” by the clip’s director, Brian De Palma, before she found fame via the hit sitcom Friends.
In the clip she shared on Instagram, which features the words “Asking my mom how she danced in the 80’s” across it, the mom and actress is seen in a zipped-up hoodie and jeans with her hands in the air, attempting to dance to Bronski Beat’s “Smalltown Boy.” As she moves for a few beats, it’s clear she’s just not feeling it. She shakes her head, unzips her sweatshirt like a record scratch to reveal a Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band T-shirt, and the song switches to “Dancing in the Dark,” the biggest single from Springsteen’s best-selling album Born in the U.S.A.
