Lou Gramm, stage name of Louis Andrew Grammatico, is known for his membership in Foreigner during the group's most successful years.
Foreigner performed with co-founding vocalist Lou Gramm at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, N.Y., on Thursday. The show featured a live performance of the rare song “Luanne” for the first time in 40 years.
According to Ultimate Classic Rock, Foreigner hadn’t performed “Luanne” in concert since 1985. It was the fifth and final single from the band’s 1981 album, “4,” which Foreigner is celebrating with a deluxe reissue and a small number of “Foreigner 4 Deluxe Tour” dates with Gramm.
The setlist change follows an update to the band’s lineup after longtime Foreigner singer Kelly Hansen stepped down in October. Luis Maldonado is the new lead vocalist, sharing the stage with Gramm, bassist Jeff Pilson, keyboardist Michael Bluestein, guitarist Bruce Watson and drummer Chris Frazier.
Gramm, an Upstate New York native, is expected to join Foreigner for additional “Foreigner 4 Deluxe Tour” dates this month including concerts Sunday in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania; and Thursday in Montclair, N.J.
