George Harrison would've have turned 80 on February 25, 2023.

Dhani Harrison is the only son of the late Beatles legend George Harrison and wife Olivia

Dhani, 44, is not only a lookalike for his father, but also has his talent for performance. He began his musical career by helping George at home recording sessions for the Brainwashed album project, learning performance and production techniques.george

In 2002, Dhani also performed at the Concert for George on the first anniversary of his father's death, alongside musicians including Beatles band mates Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, as well as Eric Clapton, Ravi Shankar, Jeff Lynne, Tom Petty and Joe Brown.

Two years later he also appeared alongside Tom Petty, Steve Winwood, Jeff Lynne and Prince for a performance of George Harrison's While My Guitar Gently Weeps during his father's posthumous induction into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall Of Fame. However, Dhani has opened up to Mail Online about his father's death, saying "there have been so many times I miss my dad."

"When he died I remember thinking we’d left nothing unsaid and that was good. But then you get older, and there have been so many times I miss my dad," said Dhani.

Beach Boys' Mike Love also remembers George Harrison.

Love’s friendship with Harrison, dating back to the 1960s, was strengthened after The Beach Boys singer (and songwriter of classics “I Get Around,” “California Girls” and “Wouldn’t It Be Nice”) traveled with The Beatles to Rishikesh, India in 1968 to study under Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, the guru known for developing Transcendental Meditation.

Over the two months they spent in India, the musicians attended lectures, played music and celebrated each other’s birthdays: Harrison’s on Feb. 25 and Love’s on March 15.

“He was such a cool person,” Love says. “People would say, ‘Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’ was the best album,’ and George would say, ‘No, it’s just another album.’ He was so down to earth and yet so into spirituality.”

Elton John: George told me “Stop putting that marching powder up your nose”

Once I thought George Harrison wanted to make a band with me, Ringo, Jeff Lynne and Eric Clapton, after we performed at Prince's Trust Concert.

I have very fond memories of playing on Cloud Nine, George's album. And George was always very, very kind to me. When I first came to America and the Elton John album was, like, Number Eighteen or Nineteen on the charts, and I was pinching myself, looking at all the records on the charts by my heroes - I got a telegram from George congratulating me. I've still got it somewhere.

It was just a very thoughtful thing for him to do. It meant the whole world to me.Then, after I got to meet him and hang out with him and play on his records, he continued to be very, very generous in spirit to me. Toward the end, I didn't see much of him. But I still remember staying up until eight o'clock in the morning recording and then asking him to play "Here Comes the Sun." And he did, and it was magical.

Nearly 20  years after his death, the legacy of George Harrison and his fellow Beatles continues to reveal itself.

She found the material in cupboards, piano benches and throughout Friar Park where Olivia still resides.

"The lyrics were all over the house," she says. One piano bench used regularly by keyboardist Billy Preston during visits to George's home studio was filled with 20 years of work, and one desk was loaded with lyrics and Polaroid photos just from 1973.

"It was pretty much a revelation. There would be spiral-bound notebooks. Some of them would go back to the Sixties. Others would be around the [Traveling] Wilburys time. Some were in the Eighties."

The book includes a handful of lyrics never recorded, including something from the early Seventies called "Hey Ringo," which includes the line: "Hey Ringo, there's one thing that I've not said/I'll play my guitar with you till I drop dead."

"I was really moved because I'd never seen it," Ringo Starr told Rolling Stone, minutes after seeing the song for the first time  "He was my best friend. I had two other great friends, and three brothers. We were pals."
