Lindsay Lohan will show off her singing chops in Freakier Friday. In a new cover story interview for Elle, Lindsay Lohan spoke to Saturday Night Live‘s Chloe Fineman about reprising her role as Anna Coleman — and what it was like to sing again.
“It was good. Well, it was kind of nerve-racking at first, because I’m not singing as me,” Lohan said. “When I was doing [Freaky Friday], I was also recording an album, so it was part of my life at the time. In this movie, I was singing it as [my character] Anna, whereas before felt more like Lindsay singing.”
Lohan said the “whole band” came back together to make new music for the sequel. She even joked with one of her returning co-stars, “How weird is this? Are we still cool?” as a reference to how much their lives have changed, especially since both are now mothers.
“I feel like we live in a different world now, where women make it such a point, especially in motherhood, to make time for ourselves,” she added. “We make it important. But also, once you have one kid, you’re like, ‘Oh, my kid needs a kid to play with.’” (R.S.)
