Kylie Minogue has confirmed she plans to celebrate her 40th anniversary with a tour.

The 57-year-old singer launched her pop career back in 1987, while still starring in TV soap Neighbours, with a cover of The Loco-Motion and she is looking forward to commemorating the milestone with fans next year.

The 57-year-old icon will celebrate 40 years in pop in 2027, and while nothing is in place yet, she has revealed talks are underway about doing something in the vein of Taylor's career-spanning concert tour or Madonna's Celebration jaunt.

Asked if she is planning to tour in honour of the 40th anniversary, she told The Sunday Times' Style magazine: "I’m probably not meant to say this, but yes, I am.”

Kylie isn't afraid to reach out to artists whose music she likes to tell them she is a fan.

Asked who she is listening to at the moment, she said: "Sombr. I sent him a message or maybe he sent me a message, I don’t know.

"I put him on one of my playlists for some promo I was doing. I’m no longer shy to send a message to someone when I want them to know they are amazing.

"Otherwise I love yacht rock [soft rock], indie folk. I love Wolf Alice, and the last big show I saw was Coldplay, always Coldplay. I will go to every show they ever do.”

The Spinning Around singer is keen to return to her roots and get back into acting.

She admitted: “I would love to do a musical, to act again, to be in the hands of a director who can get me there.”

“Talking about celebration, it will be such a milestone. I can’t say, I don’t really know yet, but yeah, we’re thinking about it.”

The Spinning Around hitmaker launched her career in 1987 with a cover of the timeless classic The Loco-Motion, leading her to global stardom with legendary songwriting trio Stock Aitken Waterman, before going on to have another huge hit of her own with I Should Be So Lucky that same year.

The XMAS singer was a surprise guest at Madonna's Celebration Tour show in Los Angeles in March 2024, and although they haven't spoken about working together since then, she would jump at the chance.

In a separate interview, she told People magazine: "Obviously I would [collaborate with Madonna].

"So, there's been no discussion, but if it were to happen, that would be great."
