The Rolling Stones frontman is a legendary Lothario, linked with women from every walk of life. From Hollywood stars to runway models, socialites to swimsuit models, first ladies to magazine models and groupies to fashion models, Jagger has opened his heart, and – more often – his bed, to an incredible number of partners.
By his own count, the iconic singer claims to have slept with more than 4,000 women. Such a number seems unfathomable for any normal person, yet this is Mick Jagger we’re talking about, so we tend to believe him.
Assembling a list of Jagger’s former lovers is a fool's errand, especially since the man himself has probably forgotten more than a few late-night trysts. Some partners have openly discussed Jagger’s bedroom antics, describing him as a passionate and insatiable lover. Other have not been so kind – one described him as a “sexual vampire.”
Marianne Faithfull
Singer and actress Marianne Faithfull came to prominence in the 1960s, right around the time of the Rolling Stones’ ascent to fame. She had a much publicized relationship with Jagger from 1966 until 1970. There were certainly plenty of positives in the romance – Faithfull influenced some of the Stones’ best work, including “You Can't Always Get What You Want,” “Wild Horses” and “I Got the Blues.” Yet there was a dark side as well, as Faithfull’s drug addiction eventually led the relationship to crumble. In their waning days as a couple, she reportedly slept with Keith Richards as payback for Jagger's affair with Anita Pallenberg.
Anita Pallenberg
German model and actress Anita Pallenberg became part of the Rolling Stones' inner circle in 1965 when she began dating Brian Jones. The blonde stunner certainly caught the eye of the other band members, but initially Jones was the only one she fancied. "Brian was so far ahead of them you wouldn’t believe it,” Anita recalled to author David Dalton many years later. “He had chicks. All the chicks. And he used to fuck everybody else’s chick. I mean, he knew it, he really had it down and they didn’t." Pallenberg and Jones dated for two years, but broke up when the rocker became physically violent towards her. Pallenberg began dating Keith Richards soon afterward. She also reportedly had a brief fling with Jagger in the late '60s, around the time the two starred in the sexually-charged film Performance.
Linda Eastman
When Linda Eastman was still an up-and-coming photographer, she reportedly met and dated several musicians. Among them, Mick Jagger, whom she met after a Rolling Stones concert. “She came up to me and said, ‘Um, Mick just asked me for my number, what should I do?'” friend and fellow photographer David Dalton recalled in the book Paul McCartney: A Life. “I said, ‘Give it to him!'” Linda and Jagger briefly dated, but her destiny would be with another legendary star. Eastman married Paul McCartney in 1969 and stayed with him until her death in 1998.
Princess Margaret
Princess Margaret and Mick Jagger were in the same social circles in the ‘60s. The two were often seen flirting and partying together, and multiple people have suggested they were secretly an item. “She found him sexy and exciting. If you saw them laughing together, dancing, the way she’d put her hand on his knee and giggle at his stories like a schoolgirl, you’d have thought there was something going on,” noted one onlooker. Regardless, neither Jagger nor the Princess ever confirmed their relationship – though Queen Elizabeth reportedly disliked the Stones singer due to his fraternizing with Margaret, and pushed against Jagger’s knighthood for many years.
Bianca Jagger
Bianca Jagger – born Blanca Pérez-Mora Macías – met Mick Jagger in 1970 at a party following a Rolling Stones concert in France. Less than a year later, they were married in a ceremony on May 12, 1971. Bianca was four months pregnant at the time, and the couple welcomed their daughter Jade into the world that October. A philanthropist and socialite, Bianca embraced the spotlight alongside Jagger. The two became one of the trendiest couples in the world, regularly attending high profile events and partying at swanky locale, like New York’s Studio 54. In May 1978, Bianca filed for divorce from the Rolling Stones singer due to his affair with model Jerry Hall. Bianca remains the only woman Jagger was legally married to (more on that in a moment).
Jerry Hall Mick's Texas-born, supermodel ex-partner is best known for her long blonde hair and sky-high legs. Was very engaged to Bryan Ferry before meeting Mick at a dinner party. The hot pair had four children - Lizzy, James, Georgia May and Gabriel - but separated in 1999. Married media mogel Rupert Murdoch in March 2016.
Carla Bruni
Jagger was not faithful to Hall during their more-than two decades together. Among his notable side relationships, a romance with Italian singer and model Carla Bruni, which ran from 1991 to 1994. Jagger was far from the only celebrity connected with Bruni. Eric Clapton was dating her when she met Jagger (Slowhand reportedly pleaded with Mick not to steal her away). Bruni also dated Donald Trump and later became the First Lady of France when she married then-President Nicolas Sarkozy in 2008.
L'Wren Scott
Jagger had a relationship with model and fashion designer L'Wren Scott for thirteen years, beginning in 2001. The couple even collaborated together, as Scott helped design fabulous costumes for Jagger’s tours with the Stones. In 2014, following a period of severe depression, Scott was found dead in her home, from a suicide by hanging. Jagger later set up the L'Wren Scott scholarship at London's Central Saint Martins College in her honor.
Melanie Hamrick
Jagger’s relationship with ballet dancer Melanie Hamrick garnered headlines due to its large age gap – a trend you’ll notice throughout this list. The couple’s 44 year age difference is certainly eye-opening, and suggestions Jagger began dating the dancer before L'Wren Scott’s suicide only made things look worse (Jagger has always insisted he didn’t begin dating Hamrick until after Scott’s death). The couple has been together since 2014 and have one child, son Deveraux Octavian Basil Jagger, born in 2016. Seven years later, rumors swirled when Hamrick was spotted with what looked like an engagement ring. "In my mind, it's a promise ring. We'll be immature and call it a promise ring," she explained to People. The two remain together but have never confirmed an engagement.
Cleo Sylvestre
Regarded as Jagger’s first “serious” girlfriend, Cleo Sylvestre was an English actress who notably was the first Black woman ever to play a leading role at the National Theatre in London. She was also a singer and released her rendition of “To Know Him Is to Love Him” in 1964. Her backing band on the track? The Rolling Stones. Sylvestre’s relationship with Jagger reportedly ended by ‘64.
Chrissie Shrimpton
Jagger was still a student at the London School of Economics when he began dating model Chrissie Shrimpton. The couple stayed together from 1963 to 1966, but things ended when the budding rock star turned his attention to Marianne Faithful.
Sophie Dahl
Model Sophie Dahl was in her mid-twenties when she had a tryst with Jagger in the early 2000s. The rocker’s former chauffeur later wrote about the couple in his book Baby You Can Drive My Car, detailing one of their intimate encounters. “They were all over each other,” he wrote. “Once we reached our destination - a restaurant where she had an appointment - Mick told me to drive round the corner. Out of tact, I left the car for them to say their farewells. This took some time. The car was also rocking before she got out. As I got back in, Mick licked those famous lips and beamed ‘That was Sophie.’"
Estelle Bennett
The Ronettes were one of the most popular girl groups of the early ‘60s, scoring hits with such tunes as “Be My Baby.” In 1964, they embarked on a tour of the U.K., and the Rolling Stones served as the opening act. During this time, Jagger struck up an affair with Estelle Bennett, one of the Ronettes and sister to Ronnie Spector.
Janice Dickinson
As one of the most famous models of the 1970s and ‘80s, Janice Dickinson hobnobbed with a long list of celebrities. In her memoir, Check, Please!, she detailed her affair with Jagger. “Mating with Mick for me was like a boxing match; the ring was my queen-sized mattress,” Dickinson wrote. “He'd flip me over and then I'd flip him over - which wasn't hard because he only came up to my shoulders if we were standing.” The model admitted Jagger wasn’t her ideal man, but added that it didn’t matter. “My dream was a Jewish Jim Morrison; Mick was more like the Dutch Boy you see on paint cans...He wasn't at all my type. But then again, it didn't matter - because he was Mick Jagger.”
Dana Gillespie
Actress and singer Dana Gillespie contributed to more than 70 albums in her career, a remarkable feat. Yet most rock fans just know her for the men she slept with, among them David Bowie, Keith Moon, Bob Dylan and Mick Jagger. She reportedly had a fling with the Stones frontman in the '60s. Still, Gillespie later told The Daily Mail that she barely counted Jagger as a lover, “because Mick slept with everyone.”
Marsha Hunt
Singer and actress Marsha Hunt had connections to many English stars of the ‘60s. She briefly married Mike Ratledge (for visa reasons), worked alongside Elton John in the band Bluesology and dated T. Rex frontman Marc Bolan. Hunt first met Jagger in 1969. The Rolling Stones asked her to pose for some promotional material, but she politely declined. Still, she and Mick had a spark and they began a relationship which lasted approximately 10 months. Their relationship ended in June 1970. Five months later she gave birth to Jagger’s first child, Karis.
Linda Ronstadt
As two of the ‘70s biggest stars, Mick Jagger and Linda Ronstadt crossed paths on many occasions. The two shared a mutual respect which evolved into attraction. Ronstadt made many memorable guest appearances at Rolling Stones concerts, and notably covered the band’s song “Tumbling Dice” on her 1977 LP Simple Dreams. The singers reportedly had a brief affair from 1977 to 1978, which ended when Bianca insisted the dalliances stop.
Catherine James
Catherine James enjoyed flings with many musicians, including Jackson Browne, David Gilmour and Jimmy Page. She had a son with Denny Laine of the Moody Blues, but among her most passionate relationships was her time with Mick Jagger. The two first connected at a house party in 1970 hosted by Eric Clapton, where George Harrison debited his latest song, “My Sweet Lord.” While the group assembled was focussing on the music, Jagger and James disappeared to a nearby study. “Mick eased me back against the wall kissing me with a kind of abandoned girls only dream about,” James later wrote in her memoir. The two began to date and at one point she and her son moved in with Jagger. However, the relationship fell apart when the Stones singer got together with Bianca while James was visiting California.
P.P. Arnold
“I was not Mick Jagger’s woman. He was not my man. We were friends. And we were lovers,” singer P.P. Arnold explained to the Sydney Morning Herald in 2022. She and Jagger romanced for “many years,” even as he churned through other relationships. One claim, which has been disputed, is that Arnold inspired the Stones’ “Brown Sugar.” “All these women out here saying, ‘Oh, he wrote Brown Sugar about me!’; ‘No he didn’t, he wrote Brown Sugar about me!’ … Well, I never gave a damn whether he wrote it about me,” she declared. “I always fucking knew what he wrote 'Brown Sugar' about. It’s obvious. All you gotta do is read the lyrics.”
Claudia Lennear
Claudia Lennear is a famous backing singer, having supported everyone from Ike & Tina Turner to Joe Cocker and Leon Russell. When the Turners opened for the Rolling Stones in 1969, Lennear and Jagger struck up a brief romance. She is another of Mick’s lovers who is rumored to have inspired “Brown Sugar.”
Daryl Hannah
Actress Daryl Hannah and Mick Jagger grabbed tabloid headlines after the two were photographed leaving a New York club together in 1987. The two are rumored to have dated, though neither side ever confirmed it. Hannah’s other relationships have included Jackson Browne, John F. Kennedy Jr. and Neil Young, who she married in 2018.
Rae Dawn Chong
In 2020, actress Rae Dawn Chong revealed that she had sex with Mick Jagger when she was just 15. “He never asked me how old I was and I never told him. It never came up,” the actress explained to The Daily Mail. “I remember thinking he was really cute. He had tousled hair. I thought, ‘Oh man, he is beautiful.’” Chong insisted Jagger “did nothing wrong” and “didn’t make me do anything I didn’t want to do.” “It was the 1970s, a different era. I wasn’t a victim. I don’t want him to get into trouble about this. It wasn’t traumatizing. I knew what I was doing. I wasn’t an innocent schoolgirl. I always acted a lot older than I was. I was a grown-up at 15.”
Sable Starr
Legendary groupie Sable Starr slept with a wide array of rock stars, beginning with Spirit guitarist Randy California, whom she claimed she lost her virginity to when she was 12. Iggy Pop, David Bowie, Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, Rod Stewart, Alice Cooper and Johnny Thunders (with whom she’s photographed here) are among the other musicians Starr claimed to have bedded. So too was Mick Jagger.
Sabrina Guinness, Miranda Guinness and Catherine Guinness
Jagger has been connected to not one, not two, but three different members of the prestigious Guinness family, one of the most famous families in the U.K. (and, yes, connected to the Guinness beer empire). Jagger’s most famous Guinness partner was Sabrina Guinness, pictured here with him in 2022 (decades after they supposedly had a fling). The heiress also counts Paul McCartney, Jack Nicholson and Prince Charles among her exes. Her twin sister Miranda was also romantically linked to Jagger, as was a further relative, Catherine Guinness.
Cornelia Guest 
Cornelia Guest was a socialite and debutant, famous among New York’s elite. Her 18th birthday party was a fancy affair with many celebrities in attendance, including Jagger. He and Guest reportedly had a fling not long afterward.
Bebe Buell and Pamela Des Barres
Former Playboy Playmate and famous groupie Bebe Buell embraced a long list of celebrity lovers, including Iggy Pop, Rod Stewart, David Bowie, Todd Rundgren and Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler, with whom she had a daughter, Liv Tyler. Jagger is another on Buell’s list, the two having enjoyed a short relationship in the mid-’70s. She later said Jagger introduced her to “culture, food, designers, [and] good shoes."
Pamela Des Barres' famous partners have included Keith Moon, Noel Redding, Gram Parsons and Jimmy Page (who she’s photographed with here). Recalling her romp with Jagger, Des Barres was complimentary. "He was an incredible playful lover, frolicking, his bedclothes were everywhere," she said. "He made you feel special."
Luciana Gimenez
Brazilian model and television host Luciana Gimenez originally began dating Jagger in secret – mainly because their relationship began while the rocker was still with Jerry Hall (whom he was unofficially married to). Jagger’s affair with Gimenez was reportedly the final straw that ended his 22 relationship with Hall. Gimenez and the singer have one son together, Lucas, born in 1999.
Lori Mattix
Another of the infamous groupies who frequented clubs on the Sunset Strip, Lori Mattix claims to have bedded many famous lovers. Among them, David Bowie, Jimmy Page (pictured here), Jeff Beck, Ronnie Wood and – you guessed it – Mick Jagger. In a 2015 conversation with Thrillist, she recalled an encounter with the Stones singer at the Record Plant in Los Angeles. “[Jagger] took me to one of the bondage-themed bedrooms that the studio had,” she recalled. “Mick said, ‘Let’s go fuck and get high.; We did blow all night and talked and hung out until the morning.” That wasn’t their only night together. “Another time, Mick [had me] on a bathroom floor while Bianca was getting ready for surgery. The sex was very consensual.”
Uschi Obermaier
Model and actress Uschi Obermaier was one of the biggest sex symbols of ‘60s Germany. She is regarded as a central figure of the West German student movement, a liberal social shift that enacted cultural change in the country. She reportedly had an affair with Jimi Hendrix and later joined the Rolling Stones for their 1975 tour of the Americas, during which she had flings with both Jagger and Keith Richards.
Uma Thurman
In the fall of 1996, Jagger reportedly struck up a brief affair with actress Uma Thurman. Their short time together included an altercation outside of the Viper Room in West Hollywood, where a photographer snapped a picture of the two together, only to be physically wrestled to the ground by Jagger’s bodyguard. The paparazzo sued Jagger, who eventually settled out of court.
Angelina Jolie (Mick Jagger met his match (and lost) with Angelina Jolie
Before she became an A-list Hollywood star, Angelina Jolie was cast in the Rolling Stones’ music video for “Anybody Seen My Baby.” The actress caught Jagger’s eye and the singer pursued her – only to be turned down. Jolie was married to actor Jonny Lee Miller at the time and did not reciprocate Jagger’s advances. The singer reportedly continued to court her with Jolie eventually getting together with the rock star years later.
Farrah Fawcett
A twist to the previously mentioned Angelina Jolie story: After Jagger successfully convinced to actress to go out with him, the rock star ditched her. We’re not sure how many dates into the relationship this occurred, but apparently Jagger took Jolie to a party, only to disappear into the night for a romp with Farrah Fawcett.
