On Tuesday, HBO Max removed the 1939 film from its library in the wake of protests over the death of George Floyd as The New York Post reports.
“’Gone With The Wind’ is a product of its time and depicts some of the ethnic and racial prejudices that have, unfortunately, been commonplace in American society. These racist depictions were wrong then and are wrong today, and we felt that to keep this title up without an explanation and a denouncement of those depictions would be irresponsible,”
“Cops” has officially been canceled at Paramount Network.
Definitive news that the series won’t return comes only four days after Variety exclusively reported that it had been pulled from the schedule.
“‘Cops’ is not on the Paramount Network and we don’t have any current or future plans for it to return,” a Paramount Network spokesperson said in a statement.
“Cops” launched on Fox in 1989, and is considered one of the originators of the modern reality TV movement. But in recent years, it has also come under fire for how it depicts law enforcement, and for questionable behind the scenes practices.
