Julian Lennon runs into Paul McCartney at the airport

No one has a family reunion quite like Julian Lennon. The singer and son of legendary Beatle John Lennon posted a picture of himself at the airport Saturday next to his famous father’s songwriting partner — the one and only Paul

“It’s Amazing who you run into in an airport Lounge!” he tweeted, alongside the black-and-white snap of himself with Macca. “None other than Uncle Paul…. So, so lovely, and what are the chances… Thankful….,” he wrote.

In a second shot, McCartney, 80, is holding up a cellphone and pointing to it as it displays Julian’s most recent album, “Jude,” which was released in September. “Jude” is Lennon’s first album in more than a decade.

Coincidentally, the "Too Late for Goodbyes" singer named his new album after the Beatles hit "Hey Jude," which McCartney wrote for Julian when he was 5 years old amid his parents John and Cynthia Lennon's divorce.

In April, Julian revealed on the SiriusXM Volume radio show Debatable that he had a "love-hate relationship" with the song.

"I am thankful to Paul for writing it and putting some hope behind what was to come," Julian explained. "But the downside of it was it was a dark reminder of what actually went down at the time, the separation." (People)

At the start of his North American tour and at his headlining set at Glastonbury festival, Paul McCartney performed a “duet” with the late John Lennon on “I’ve Got a Feeling.”

McCartney said of the special performance, “One day, Peter Jackson rings me up and says he can take John’s vocals and isolate them so that you can play live with John on tour. He said, ‘Do you fancy that?'”McCartney continued, “That’s so special for me man. I know it’s virtual, but come on – it’s John. We’re back together.”

Lennon’s son, Julian, has since spoken out about the “duet” in an interview with Daily Mail, expressing his initial reservations. He admitted he was “shocked” when he first saw the performance but by the time of the Glastonbury set he “actually enjoyed it.”

“I watched it on YouTube — and I kind of went: ‘Errrr… I don’t know if I’m comfortable with that,” he said, adding: “It shocked me.”

He went on to add that it was tough to see his father “brought to life” in that way but began to warm up to the idea as time has gone on.
