Elton earns 500,000 $ every show. The 70-year-old Rocket Man next spring will wrap up his residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.

After 450 shows during decades at Caesars Palace, Elton added a final 14 dates from 19 May. Elton’s initial residency in Sin City began under the title of The Red Piano, with 243 shows between February 2004 and April 2009; he revived the musical showcase in September of 2011. Elton had originally only planned to perform The Million Dollar Shows for three years until 2014, but ended up extending the run after landing a new contract which reportedly earned him more than $500,000 (£377,400) for every show.

The singer shares The Colosseum stage with Celine Dion, who also has an ongoing residency at the intimate venue, while fellow Sin City regulars include Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, the Backstreet Boys, and Lionel Richie.palace

He told the newspaper, ‘I couldn’t believe it,’ adding ‘This is a town that has been so kind to me.

‘I’ve been appearing here throughout my career … and it has a big place in my heart.’ Gary Selesner, President of Caesars Palace, shares in a statement. “We are incredibly grateful to Elton for allowing Caesars Palace to be the home for his 450 memorable performances.”

Recently the singer expected to make “full and complete recovery” after “harmful and unusual bacterial infection”

A “harmful and unusual bacterial infection” has forced Elton John to cancel his upcoming April and May run of “The Million Dollar Piano” gigs at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, as well as his May 6th show in Bakersfield, California.

The singer contracted the illness on a recent tour of South America and became violently ill on a flight home from Santiago, Chile. He spent two nights in intensive care at a U.K. hospital, where he received treatment to remove the infection and was released on April 22nd.

“Thankfully, Elton’s medical team identified this quickly and treated it successfully,” the singer’s rep wrote in a statement. “He is expected to make a full and complete recovery.”
