Monterey Jazz announces terrific lineup for virtual festival

Herbie Hancock, Dianne Reeves among featured artists.

The lineup has been announced for this year’s “virtual” Monterey Jazz Festival.(mercurynews)

The three-day music event runs 5-7 p.m. Sept. 25-27 on the festival’s YouTube site,, and features a mix of archival footage and new performances from such acts as Herbie Hancock, Dianne Reeves, Diana Krall, Lila Downs, Kenny Barron and Regina Carter.
