Lindsey Buckingham says ready to rejoin Fleetwood Mac on the podcast "Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend"

By editorial board on February 7, 2024

Appearing recently on the Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend podcast, Lindsey Buckingham revealed that despite the harshness of the split, he wouldn't hesitate to reunite with Fleetwood Mac.

Asked if he would be willing to return, Lindsey said: “In a heartbeat, absolutely. If there was more material coming from Fleetwood Mac, if there was a way to heal the situation, that would be fantastic."

Continuing the conversation, Lindsey said that his firing somewhat tarnished Fleetwood Mac's legacy. “I've been in the band for almost 45 years – that's part of our legacy too – and we've always been able to resolve issues. our differences over things that were much deeper than any issues that happened in 2018 and my subsequent left.”

However, following the death of Christine McVie in November 2022, it seems highly unlikely that Fleetwood Mac will return to activity.

Mick Fleetwood and Stevie Nicks had already thought of closing this hypothesis when, interviewed on the Grammy red carpet in February 2023, he declared: “I really think the line was drawn with the loss of Chris (McVie). I'd say we're done, but then again we've all already said that. It's a bit unthinkable at this moment that there will be a return."

Stevie Nicks North American tour kicks off next week in Atlantic City, but the singer and songwriter is already eager to play even more shows.
