Iron Maiden also announce 2024 tour dates for Australia and New Zealand

It marks the English heavy metal band's first tour of the countries since 2016

The English heavy metal band will take their 'Future Past Tour' to the US and Canada in October 2024, opening at the North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre in San Diego, California before performing in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Sacramento, Portland, Denver, Rosemont, Toronto, Quebec and Montreal.

In November, they will move on to the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, with stops in Brooklyn, Pittsburg, Baltimore, Charlotte, Fort Worth, and San Antonio before wrapping up the tour in Chile.

The English heavy metal band first teased the dates in a video shared to social media last week. Today (October 16), the official run of shows have been confirmed for September of next year, with Iron Maiden first performing at Perth’s RAC Arena on September 1, with another show slated for the Adelaide Entertainment Centre on September 4.

From there, the band will perform at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena (September 6) and the Brisbane Entertainment Centre (September 10), before finalising the Australian run of dates at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena on September 12. Iron Maiden will also perform one show in New Zealand, at Auckland’s Spark Arena on September 16.

Iron Maiden's 'Spitfire' crash on the stage during the show at the DCU Center in Worcester (Mass.) last week.
Typically, the Spitfire "flies" ( floats) above the band during "Aces High."

But during the last performance , the plane appeared to get stuck on its way to the front of the stage. Fan-shot footage, which you can watch below, shows the wings failing to extend fully, and the plane hovering awkwardly near the back of the stage before crew members deflate it and hide it from view. Singer Bruce Dickinson can be seen glancing back at the Spitfire as it flails and flapping his arms during the guitar solo after it has retreated from the stage.

Iron Maiden have scored their highest charting album ever with ‘Senjutsu’ on the Billboard 200.

The album landed at Number Three in the charts after shifting the equivalent of 64,000 album units.
