The film comes courtesy of Italian director Alice Rohrwacher, loosely based on the novel by Audrey Niffenegger, and features a star-studded cast, including Dakota Johnson, Jessie Buckley, Saoirse Ronan, Josh O’Connor, and Isabella Rossellini. (Farout Mag Report)
Although it’s linked to Niffenegger’s novel, the full plot details have not yet been revealed. Indian Paintbrush are producing and financing the project.
According to the Sicilian publication La Sicilia, Jagger arrived via helicopter on the Sicilian island of Stromboli on May 17th after his arrival was delayed by 24 hours due to bad weather.
They report that Jagger is set to play the father of Josh O’Connor’s character, Kyo, in the film, which will only keep him in Sicily for a few days due to his role being limited to a brief number of scenes. It’s claimed that he’ll leave Stromboli on May 21st.
Although his stay is not extended on Stromboli, the locals are grateful to have him on the island, with one telling La Sicilia, “He will be treated like all guests, because the island offers the same welcoming treatment to everyone, trying to make tourists feel at home.”
Jagger first dipped his toes into the world of acting back in 1970 when he starred in the titular role in Ned Kelly, but music has always been his priority, especially in the 21st century.
Prior to The Incestuous Three Sisters, Jagger’s last movie role came in 2019 when he starred in The Burnt Orange Heresy, directed by Giuseppe Capotondi.
Jagger finding the time to shoot The Incestuous Three Sisters is somewhat of a surprise, considering his busy schedule with The Rolling Stones currently, as they gear up to release their new album Foreign Tongues on July 10th.
Jagger is expected to stay in Stromboli until May 21, when the scenes involving him will conclude. He is staying in a private villa in the Piscità area. Last night he dined at a restaurant on the island but discreetly and without drawing too much attention, though the waiters were honored to serve one of the legends of rock.
