“I’ve been playing a lot of bass” on The Stones’ new tracks
During an appearance on CBS Sunday Morning, Richards says his switch in instrument added a “new angle” to the legendary band’s sound, according to the musician
Keith Richards has revealed that he’s been “playing a lot of bass” on The Rolling Stones‘ upcoming Hackney Diamonds album.
The Rolling Stones bandmates first spoke at the Kent railway station in South East England, six decades ago on October 17, 1961.
And to celebrate their friendship, the official Stones Twitter account wrote: "60 years on the same train."
In 2015, Dartford council had a blue plaque placed at the station, which read: "Mick Jagger and Keith Richards met on platform 2 on 17 October 1961 and went on to form The Rolling Stones - one of the most successful rock bands of all time."
And Guitarist Keith, reacted: "I actually don't know exactly what it said, but Mick just the other day came up to me and says, 'do you believe this s***, man? Bill Wyman is complaining about the plaque at Dartford station."
"I said, 'A plaque? I thought we had a statue.'
Meanwhile statues of Mick Jagger and Keith Richards were unveiled on August 9th in their hometown of Dartford, The Guardian reports.
Bronze figures of two of the world’s greatest rock’n’roll stars, Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, have been unveiled in their home town of Dartford, Kent, known mainly for its tunnel and bridges.
The statues, by renowned sculptor Amy Goodman, are sited a short walk from Dartford Railway Station, where Jagger and Richards bumped into each other again as teenagers in 1961.

“The children don’t need $500 million to live well, come on,” said Jagger in a recent interview. He added that giving it to charity would “maybe do some good in the world.”
Jagger, who turnes 81 on July 26, still retains his portion of the band’s post-1971 music catalog. The band’s former accountant, Allen Klein, who died in 2009, secured the copyrights to the Stones’ earlier discography when they parted ways with him in 1970. Klein’s company, ABKCO Music & Records, still owns the rights to some of the Rolling Stones’ biggest hits including “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction,” “Paint It Black,” and “Ruby Tuesday,” among many others released before ’71.
"I think Mick sent a note saying - because Bill comes from a town called Penge - 'Bill, if a plaque went up in Penge station that said you were the founding member of the Rolling Stones, do you think we'd complain?'
"But Bill - oh, we love him dearly, and he was a hell of a bass player. We didn't tell him to leave."
The Rolling Stones, too, had their own private flying experience, first with a Boeing 737 and later on a much larger 767 for their latest tour.

From 2014 to 2015, the Rolling Stones’ choice of aircraft was the Boeing 737-400, the first of which was hired from Greek leasing company GainJet and the second from Phoenix-based leasing company Swift Air.
