The Woman in Me shows how imprisoned Spears has felt since childhood – feelings that worsened under a conservatorship and the glare of the media
Following the releas of Spears' book ' The Woman in me' The Guardian has published the most shocking part of the book. Here some excerpts.
She has never really known freedom
As a child, Britney escaped her difficult home life – her alcoholic father often rowing with her mother – into the outdoors, which “gave me a sense of aliveness and danger”, she writes. Performing also makes her feel invincible. But by the age of 16, she is public property – incapable of going outside without being mobbed, and her love of singing and dancing now a lucrative resource.
Her body felt like public property
From day one, Britney’s body is made fair game. Between the videos for her debut single, Baby, One More Time and Sometimes, the media noted her changing physique and concluded that the 16-year-old must have had breast implants.
Her ‘virginity’ was a prison
Britney was actively marketed as a virgin, a repulsive, archaic premise that made the 16-year-old’s inevitable sexuality into a kind of timebomb.
Her life under the conservatorship is a horror story
Was I a bank robber? A wild animal? Why was I treated as though I were about to burn the place down and murder them all?

Speaking of her acting career, in which she played lead actress in the 2002 movie Crossroads, Spears said: “The experience wasn’t easy for me. My problem wasn’t with anyone involved in the production but with what acting did to my mind.
“I think I started method acting — only I didn’t know how to break out of my character. I really became this other person. Some people do method acting, but they’re usually aware of the fact that they’re doing it. But I didn’t have any separation at all.”
Madonna asks Britney Spears to join her on tour in October
Madonna worried about Britney Spears and the situation after the divorce she is experiencing due to the separation from Sam Asghari.
According to a source at RadarOnline, the 65-year-old singer cares a lot about the former Disney starlet and has made a particular request: to join her next tour.
"She feels the time has come for Britney to be given love, guidance and support, rather than being manipulated or exploited. She wants Spears to join her tour."
Madonna and Britney Spears caused a scandal in 2003 with their kiss at the VMAs and together they recorded the hit 'Me against the music'.
Madonna's tour will start next October from London - and will also stop in Italy, in Milan - after it was postponed a few months ago following some health problems of Lady Ciccone.
