Tilda Swinton Performs With Max Richter, Cate Blanchett Join Sparks Onstage.

The morning after the Tár star appeared alongside Sparks, fellow actress Tilda Swinton popped up during Max Richter’s set at the U.K. festival.

As she did nearly 20 years ago, Swinton once again delivered the spoken word readings on selections of Richter’s 2004 protest album The Blue Notebooks.

However, the performance was temporarily marred when a nude protester appeared in front of a microphone situated in front of the audience to record ambient crowd noise, but he was ultimately whisked away by security, NME reports.A naked man tries to interrupt the show with a speech down the audience microphone before being escorted away as Tilda Swinton performs with Max Richter on the Park Stage at Glastonbury Festival 2023 on June 24, 2023 in Glastonbury, United Kingdom. Taking to The Park Stage just after 11am, Richter and his band greeted early risers with an orchestral delivery of of 2004 “protest record” ‘The Blue Notebooks’ – joined by Tilda Swinton accompanying with a number of readings, including works by Czeslaw Milosz.

Cate Blanchett instead joined Sparks onstage at the U.K. festival to interpretive dance during the performance of the cult rockers’ recent single “The Girl Is Crying in Her Latte.”

Blanchett’s surprise appearance was a live rendition of the Oscar-winning actress’ starring role in the track’s music video, which similarly featured Blanchett in a bright yellow suit, sunglasses and red headphones, dancing to her own beat as the Sparks songs plays.

In the new clip for “The Girl Is Crying in Her Latte” (the title track from Sparks’ next album), Blanchett appears in a striking yellow suit with red headphones covering her ears, oblivious to Sparks’ Ron and Russell Mael behind her. While Russell sings the song and Ron sits quietly in the back — briefly cleaning up a bit of a spill —Blanchett stands front and center and dances away to the song’s infectious, buzzing synths.
