A premiere date for the upcoming Ozzy Osbourne documentary, Biography: The Nine Lives of Ozzy Osbourne, a chronicle of the heavy metal icon’s life and career, has been announced.

American television network A&E has revealed a premiere date of September 7 for the highly anticipated bio-doc, though it is not yet known when and where it will be available for the rest of the world.

Ozzy Osbourne has revealed he believed that he was dying and his family were trying to hide it from him after undergoing excruciating spine surgery.

The Black Sabbath rocker, 71, has endured the flu, had multiple hospitalisations, neck surgery, and has been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in recent years.

Ozzy said he was in so much pain during a recent surgery on his back that he was convinced the end was in sight.

It followed a tough 2019, which saw him battling pneumonia and suffering a fall which impacted metal rods that were implanted after a motorbike accident in 2003.

'There was a point I was convinced that I was dying. I was in that much discomfort and pain and misery. I thought they were all hiding it from me.

"I remember saying to [wife] Sharon, "You've gotta level with me. Is it worse than you're making it out [to be]?" She says, 'No."

Speaking on his wife Sharon’s daily show The Talk yesterday, Ozzy said the coronavirus lockdown had been beneficial in forcing him to recuperate and relax at home.

“It’s been good, actually. I’ve been recovering from a surgery I had last year. So I’ve never been at home this long in my whole career,” he said.

“So I’ve had a chance to see my wife’s side of the fence more than me being on the road. So it’s had its moments, I must confess.”When asked how he is feeling at the moment, Ozzy said: “I’m getting better. It’s a slow process, but I’m getting there slowly but surely.”

"I don't want to start a tour and then cancel shows at the last minute, as it's just not fair to the fans. I'd rather they get a refund now and when I do the North American tour down the road, everyone who bought a ticket for these shows will be the first ones in line to purchase tickets at that time," he added.

My symptoms are lessening. Im  building the muscle strength back that i need after  spine surgery,” she told ET.
