The success of "APT." is historic for several reasons. It is the first time a song featuring non-English lyrics has topped the IFPI Global Single Chart. As well as bringing the energy to the stage with their slot – with ROSÉ performing to the crowd and Mars taking on guitar duties – the slot also saw the singer and BLACKPINK member mark a new milestone: becoming the first solo K-Pop star to ever perform at the annual event.
As well as setting a new record with her performance, ROSÉ also continued to mark new territory when it came to nominations.
