Ozzy: I want ‘A Day In The Life’ by The Beatles to soundtrack my funeral

Ozzy Osbourne has always been proud of his total infatuation with everything connected to The Beatles. The Liverpudlian band were responsible for him believing his future lied within music.

Osbourne revealed he wanted ‘A Day In The Life’ by The Beatles to soundtrack his funeral and explained how he fell in love with the group. The Black Sabbath singer recalled: “I come from the backstreets of Aston in Birmingham, and it wasn’t a very cool place when I was growing up,” the singer began. “I used to sit on my doorstep and think, ‘How the hell am I going to get out of here?’ And then one day ‘She Loves You’ came on the radio”.

“I was Beatles all the way, man. My bedroom wall was, in fact, completely covered, the wall, ceilings, doors… any Beatles pictures were stuck on my wall. I used to have these fantasies of Paul McCartney marrying my sister, all this kind of crazy stuff and how wonderful (It would be)”.

Ozzy gift fans fo Halloween with the release of the original “Bark At The Moon” music video, which is back on YouTube. The song is the title track of Ozzy's third studio album, released in November 1983.

Legendary Black Sabbath vocalist Ozzy Osbourne is in and out of the headlines these days as he and wife Sharon prepare to move back to Britain from LA,

 

Birmingham’s very own Prince of Darkness has had an amazing career in music and on TV with The Osbourne’s - but you don’t often hear much about his film performance.

Ozzy’s first movie role was in the cult 1986 teen horror  comedy   which stars Ozzy as a deranged TV evangelist decrying the evils of heavy metal.

Birmingham Comedy Festival are showing it in a rare screening during Halloween weekend at Stourbridge Town Hall on Saturday, October 29.

The story is based around a bullied teen Edie (Marc Pride) devastated to hear of the sudden death of his idol, infamous heavy metal star Sammi Curr (Tony Fields). But when he’s given a copy of Sammi’s final unreleased recordings by radio DJ Nuke (played by Kiss frontman Gene Simmons), Eddie soon discovers that Sammi is preparing for the ultimate Halloween comeback ... from beyond the grave.
