YALE- 16 Feb. 2023
Paul talked about growing up in Liverpool, the music played by his family at gatherings, how John influences his writing to this day and retold a few stories that die hard Beatle fans have already heard. He also shared a cool story of hanging with Little Richard in their early days, watching him prep for a show and telling himself how beautiful he was.
About 10 minutes after the end of the event, a group of people came out walking past us and Paul was conveniently mixed in with them. The group of people (which may have included his grandsons who were in attendance, one of which is a recent Yale grad) was quickly escorted to a waiting van. Super fans all lined up to tell they had a conversation with Paul McCartney. People waited in line for hours last night at Yale. Some even traveled as far as California.
Some of his super fans have been to over 100 of his shows, and they even have his autograph tattooed on them.
“This is so great. I’ve seen Paul so many times live but seeing him in this scenario at Yale and talking about his book. This is once in a lifetime. He’s humble, his humility when we met him, he treated us like we were the only people in the room and we were at a venue with thousands of people,” fans said.
