Rock icons Pete Townshend, 72, and Roger Daltrey, 73, are expected seal a deal to play The Colosseum Theatre at Caesars Palace for at least two years with multi million deal.
According with UK The Mirror a Vegas insider said: “Elton is leaving, so the promoters and resort wanted to bring in an act of equal stature.” The deal could range from £12million to £35million, depending on how many performances they agree to initially.”
” The source claims that promoters AEG Live and Caesars are hoping The Who will begin their residency by July 2018, while The Mirror notes that the band could earn as much as $46 million from the deal, depending on how many shows they schedule.
The Who have played their first extended Las Vegas residency this year at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace: a six-show stand that started from July 29 to August 11. Casino shows usually last around 75 minutes — that’s about 45 minutes less than the Who’s concerts -which will save on Roger Daltrey’s 73-year-old vocal cords.
The band will earn about £250,000 a night. They previously enjoyed a short run which sold out earlier this year.
Sir Elton will end his 13-year, 450-show run playing to more than 1.8 million fans in May next year.
