Paul McCartney gets his playlist ready for Halloween night

All Hallows Eve creeping around the corner, we’ve cooked up a caldron full of Paul's more eerie songs for the spooky season.

One of the best “huh” moments from The Beatles was the incredibly creepy – mostly because the sound of the song is incredibly cheery – “Maxwell’s Silver Hammer,” off the classic 1969 album Abbey Road, about a murderous student named Maxwell Edison who goes around killing folks with his hammer. "Long summer days are coming to an end and the autumnal nights are on their way."

"After a season of festivals, tours and the release of several exciting projects - we’re winding down, focusing on our health and wellbeing and digging out the sweaters for ‘When Winter Comes’."

"We’ve delved into the catalogue and hand-selected some of mine more tranquil tunes and serene sounds for September’s ‘Sticking Out of My Back Pocket’ playlist. Whether it’s ‘Heaven on a Sunday’ or ‘One of These Days’, this is your time to switch off from the stress of everyday life and let the music take over."

From the harrowing rumblings of St. Vincent's remix of 'Women and Wives' that will get you rising from the dead, to howling at the 'Monkberry Moon Delight' and escaping the 'House of Wax'.Speaking to The Penguin Podcast, McCartney revealed the one musician who still leaves him starstruck.

“Yes, there’s one or two people who I would be nervous of. Bob Dylan would actually make me a little bit like, ‘oh my god, what am I going to say…is it going to be okay, is it going to be good.”But I got to talk to Bob there and he was really very nice, so I don’t know why I would have been nervous, but you get that with some people. It is a funny thing actually when you think about it. What do you have to do, to get secure in yourself?”
