Freddie Mercury frequently clashed with Queen bandmates Brian May and Roger Taylor, the legendary guitarist revealed in a interview.

The programme documents Queen’s key moments. The first part of ‘Queen: A Rock History’ aired  on Channel 5 at 9:15pm Sat, Apr 30, 2022  and is followed by ‘Queen: Live At The Odeon’, according to Express

“We were merciless, we said terrible things.  It was a struggle. That’s what breaks bands up.  There were lots of arguments about how much input everybody had.We were like four painters with a brush each but one canvas."

“There was conflict, but we got there.” these arguments actually brought the band closer together, and proved instrumental in their success.  “We all influenced each other. That was the secret of Queen."

“We pushed and pulled each other, mercilessly.

“We had a family relationship. It wasn’t always nice, because families aren’t always nice. We sometimes said terrible things, but we got the best out of each other.”

Despite his bold onstage persona suggesting he might have been the one at the centre of the arguments, Freddie managed to help feuding Brian and Roger resolve their issues. “It’s funny because if it had been just me and Roger, we would never have stuck together. We had big, big dreams. We wanted it all, and we felt we had what it takes."

After 50 episodes celebrating half a century of the iconic rock band, the final episode of Queen the Greatest has been released on YouTube. Looking back at Queen and Adam Lambert’s career together, Brian May, Roger Taylor and the singer spoke of keeping the music and Freddie Mercury’s legacy alive.

"There's one song that I sing together with Freddie, which is always a great moment. I can't see ever not wanting to do that really. And of course, the audience do it all. It's all about the audience and sharing that moment. The memories, and the fact that we're still here, and the legacy lives on, and I think Freddie would be so happy about that.” (Express)

Back in 1986, Brian May penned Queen song Who Wants To Live Forever, which featured on the band’s album A Kind of Magic and on the soundtrack for the movie Highlander. Now Brian May has released a new version of Queen's Who Want To Live Forever to raise awareness for the Young Hearts Africa Foundation.

Now, 35 years later, and the guitarist has released a new version of the song to raise awareness for the charity initiative Young Hearts Africa Foundation. The 74-year-old began the single’s music video with a special message.

“Hello, I’m Brian May. Every year in Africa thousands of children die from congenital heart disease.“The saddest thing is these tragic deaths could be avoided if their parents could only pay for the lifesaving operations that they need. The Young Hearts Africa Foundation is giving hope to these children.

“To help the foundation Dr Wilhelm Lichtenberg, a singing heart surgeon from South Africa, along with myself and singing star Kerry Ellis, plus the Soweto Gospel Choir, have recorded a brand new beautiful arrangement of my song Who Wants To Live Forever.”

The Queen legend said that by supporting the Young Hearts Africa Foundation you could contribute to saving the lives of so many of these children.

Brian May has released a  new video for his 1992 solo song “Back to the Light” where the Queen guitarist travels back in time to jam with his younger self and solo band from that time period.

May explained in a statement. “It has the original keyboard that I played when we were writing the song. “Me and Frank Musker, and his lady friend at the time, were in a room and it was like a therapy session for me. I was just pouring out all these words because I felt like I was trapped. I was in a place that I could never, ever get out of. All I could do is write about it. This is the only song I wrote in that probably nine months or a year period.”
