Watch the Beatles in 10 genres the Fab Four accidentally invented

The Beatles Fab Four are the most influential rock band of all time from the most mainstream music to the left-field metal.

When the Fab Four released “Twist and Shout,” it was the blueprint for what would become hard rock. With John Lennon utilizing a harsh vocal style, Ringo Starr annihilating his drum kit and the entire band roaring through the cut at what was then a lightning-fast pace, the Beatles conjured a kind of energy never seen or heard before.

One odd story many people don't know is about Paul playng drums.  It’s surprising how many classic Beatles songs feature Paul McCartney behind the drum kit. He’s been a guest on Foo Fighters new album, playing drums on one of the tracks.
McCartney is been one-man-band performance on White Album gem “Martha My Dear, McCartney played all the instruments in the song “You Won’t See Me” including the drums. He also played drums on other tracks like Back in the USSR, band on The run and many others.

Going from a cheesy pop-rock band to progressive giants, the Beatles brought experimental music to the masses with Rubber Soul and Revolver. The latter was especially artistic with tracks like “Eleanor Rigby,” “Yellow Submarine” and “Tomorrow Never Knows” expanding the borders of popular music.(loudwire.com)fab

Further up on the road they became one of the heaviest bands to pre-date the metal genre. Though heavy metal and doom metal are both attributed to Black Sabbath, the Beatles wrote what could be considered the first proto-metal song with “Helter Skelter and after that on abbey road the lennon long track I want you She So Heavy.

“In the case of ‘Hey Jude,’” George later recalled, “when we were recording the track, I thought that we had made it too long. It was very much a Paul song, and I couldn’t understand what he was on about by just going round and round the same thing. And of course, it does become hypnotic.” But even still, George could see the song’s obvious hit-making potential.
