In fact, that the iconic zebra crossing from the cover, situated outside of the famous Camden studios, has been a popular tourist site for decades, Metro reports.
However, a little mix-up, thanks to the name of a station on the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) in London, has resulted in fans going to the wrong place.
According to reports, day trippers from around the globe have been stuck with one way tickets to Abbey Road DLR station, 10 miles away in Newham.
The Sun has revealed that over 2,000 direct tube and bus journeys from Abbey Road in Newham to Abbey Road in Camden have been made since 2021.
One frustrated passenger posted online: ‘I thought it was strange the studio was this far out of London but I saw the stop and assumed it was the right place.’
Their error means they must make a ten-mile, £3.40 journey across the capital, taking about 40 minutes, to get to the Fab Four’s actual crossing.
Transport for London (TFL) put up a poster at the Newham DLR station to help Beatles enthusiasts find their way to the real Abbey Road.
The poster reportedly says: ‘Feel like you’ve been here there and everywhere and on a magical mystery tour? Then don’t pass me by.’ ‘Unfortunately you are at the wrong Abbey Road. However, we can work it out and help you get back to the correct location.’
There were only six photographs taken. No managers, no stylists. They were finished so quickly they had 2-3 hours to kill before their recording session started.
