Ariana Grande has secured her fifth number one album in the UK charts with Eternal Sunshine.
The American singer joins the likes of Celine Dion, Prince and Green Day, who all have five chart-topping albums in the UK, according to the Official Charts Company.
The singer-songwriter and Wicked actress opened with “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love).” Grande’s performance Saturday, as well as the music video for the single and the name of the album it’s on, draw from the 2004 romantic sci-fi film Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. The song debuted at the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100.
Grande — who first performed on SNL in 2014 then served as both host and musical guest in 2016 — is also getting ready to release a new album of her own, Eternal Sunshine, which drops March 8. The album marks her first since 2020’s Positions, though in the interim she’s largely been busy filming the movie adaptation of the hit musical Wicked (part one is set to arrive Nov. 27, with part two scheduled for Nov. 26, 2025).
