Kate Moss and the "Changeling" Years
Beginning Monday, 5th January (11pm), supermodel and close friend Kate Moss hosts extended editions of David Bowie: Changeling. This four-part series explores Bowie’s radical transformation in the early 70s. These hour-long specials feature unheard audio from Moss and exclusive insights from Bowie’s lifelong friend Geoff MacCormack, who recalls the night he and David first witnessed an unknown Bruce Springsteen in New York. The series also includes fresh contributions from Rick Owens and St. Vincent.
Bringing the Archives to Life
On Sunday, 4th January (12pm), 6 Music breathes life into a literal piece of history with Memo for Radio Show. Curators at the new David Bowie Centre (V&A East Storehouse) unearthed a handwritten note listing Bowie’s favorite records. The program plays all 15 tracks—ranging from The Beatles and Miles Davis to the Legendary Stardust Cowboy—interspersed with archive recordings of Bowie’s voice, effectively allowing the icon to "host" his own show from beyond.
David Bowie Forever: The 10th Anniversary
The commemorations culminate on Friday, 9th January, with "David Bowie Forever." From 7am to 7pm, 6 Music’s core presenters are joined by legendary guests for deep-dive discussions.
Kate Moss is set to present a new podcast for BBC Radio 6 Music on the “artistic evolution” of David Bowie.
The eight part podcast – ‘Music Uncovered, David Bowie: Changeling’ – will explore the late artist in the period from 1970-1975.
Moss said: “David Bowie was a very special person. Someone who was much more than a friend – he was an enigma.
“So, when the chance came to dive into this extraordinary five-year chapter of Bowie’s life for 6 Music and BBC Sounds, hearing from those who joined him on his creative journey and those he continues to inspire, I was excited to help share the story of such an incredible transformation. This podcast is a real celebration of my friend, a true British icon.”
