“The impersonations on this YouTube posting were recorded in August ’85, when Bowie came in to do the lead vocal. At the end of the session, he broke into the impersonations and I realized that these might get erased at some point, so I quickly put a cassette in and hit “record.” I wish we could hear the other side of the dialogue but unfortunately that wasn’t being recorded.
I was lucky enough to work with Bowie in 1985 at Westside Studios in London. My bosses, producer team Clive Langer and Alan Winstanley (Madness, Dexys Midnight Runners, Elvis Costello, Bush) were producing the soundtrack for the movie Absolute Beginners, for which Bowie was acting and writing songs (it was a better soundtrack than it was a movie!) and I was graduating from assistant engineer to engineer at that time.
Recently former model Iman has opened up about the pain and loneliness following the death of her

The 63-year-old fashion icon, who was married to Bowie for 24 years, says the past two years without her husband have been difficult. One thing she hasn’t gotten used to is fans sharing their condolences.
“People take pictures of me in the street, and say (touching my arm), ‘I am so sorry for your loss,’” she told fashion site Porter Edit. “I’m like, don’t touch me. You just took pictures of me, how can you be sorry?”
Iman noted that her youngest Alexandria, known as Lexi, has received many modeling offers after seeing a recent photo on Instagram.
“Every agency, every designer, called me to say, ‘If she wants to, we’d love for her to model for us,'” Iman told Porter Edit, adding that she denied the requests. “I know why they wanted to her to model — it’s because she is David Bowie’s daughter.”
Earlier in October A Box named Loving The Alien has been released. The fourth in a series of career-spanning David Bowie box-sets is set for release later this year.
