Suzi Ronson in her book 'Me and Mr Jones': My Life with David Bowie pulls no punches

Suzi sleeps with Bowie once, six months later.  She is aghast when Bowie, post-sex, cheerily mentions he’s going to tell his wife, adding “she expects it”.

David Bowie's hairdresser claims late singer almost bedded 16-year-old girl and 'launched himself' at an 'adorable-looking boy with an angelic face' in the back of a limo as she exposes Ziggy Stardust tour secrets in new book.

But to her lasting disappointment, Suzi is cut adrift just a few months later, shortly after Bowie dispenses with both Ziggy Stardust and his backing band, The Spiders from Mars.

David Bowie's former hairdresser has opened up about her excruciating encounter with the mother of a teenage girl who the star took to his hotel room after a gig in the 1970sas the DailyMail reports.

Suzi Ronson, 74, from Beckenham, first started working for the late singer after his mother Margaret became one of her clients at a local salon. Photogallery HERE

In her new book Me and Mr Jones: My Life with David Bowie and the Spiders from Mars, the stylist explains how she struck up a friendship with Bowie's first wife Angie after she came into the salon wanting a perm in 1971.

An extract from the book, which has appeared in The Sunday Times, details how Suzi then travelled to the couple's mansion Haddon Hall, where she was introduced to David, later that evening.

Although Angie changed her mind about the perm, Suzi ended up transforming David's shoulder-length blonde hair into a red spiky style, which later appeared on the cover of The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars.

After striking up a friendship with the couple, who were in an open marriage, Suzi was asked to assist Bowie and the band on tour in June 1972.

The following May, Suzi detailed how the band were performing in Birmingham when David spotted a 'beautiful girl' with 'long blonde hair and dark eyes' in the crowd.

Describing how her role also involved playing 'tour madam', Suzi organised for the fan to meet the band back at their hotel - like she claims to have done on several other occasions.

She wrote: 'At the hotel, David slid an arm around her shoulder and I wandered off to join the crew ordering drinks. But soon a very pale roadie came to find me.'

The fan informed Suzi that the girl's mother had arrived at reception and was refusing to leave without her daughter, who was only 16 years old.

Suzi then recalls rushing up to David's hotel room and knocking on his door until he eventually told her to 'f*** off'.

The hairdresser then informed David of the girl's age and how her mother was 'kicking up a hell of a fuss'.

Suzi described how the girl was 'instantly deposited out of the door' and David reassured her to attend another gig next year.

Life begins to look very different. Suzi marries Mick Ronson.

Mick subsequently joins Mott the Hoople, backs Bob Dylan on the Rolling Thunder tour (Suzi is not invited) and attempts to forge a solo career that would never take flight. Briefly returning to her parents’ home, Suzi raises their daughter, so financially challenged that her father is reduced to stealing Pampers from his workplace.

Mick’s spiralling alcohol consumption and Suzi’s briefly mentioned cocaine habit notwithstanding, Me and Mr Jones is a sobering tale; a warning for those who come near to fame, but only near enough to be granted a salary. “I had thought we were closer than that, I really had,” she notes of Bowie, airing the eternal lament of one who has mistaken employment for friendship.
