Sir Brian May has said he could go on tour again this year as he was awarded a knighthood by the King at Buckingham Palace.
Sir Brian went on: “I am very happy, smiling from ear-to-ear, particularly because it was the King, which means a lot. (Being a Queen).
“We’ve had a certain amount of contact over the years and we’re of an age, so I have a strong feeling for him and it was a lovely moment.
“We discussed the fact that we are of an age and he was wondering if my knees were holding out for the kneeling part of the ceremony. I said: ‘Yes, just about.’
“To receive this award I suppose feels like getting approval, like when you get a gold star at school – perhaps you’ve done something and you know what you’ve achieved and if you get that seal of approbation from above, then it’s a very good feeling, it’s very special.”

Already carrying the title of Dr. as well as previously receiving a CBE, the Queen musician now receives the award of a Knighthood, adding the honorific title Sir to his name, hereafter to be recognised with the full title Sir Brian Harold May CBE. Brian’s wife of 22 years, Anita Dobson, may use the title of Lady May.
In receiving his recognition, Sir Brian responded saying:
“I'm happy and grateful to receive this honour. I will regard the knighthood not so much as a reward, but more as a charge – a commission - for me to continue to fight for justice - to be a voice for those who have no voice. I will endeavour to be worthy - to be that Knight in Shining Armour.”
Brian May posted a tease of the latest music he's working on, confessing: "I love going in the studio to make something new."
Ever active on his Instagram, Brian posted a Christmas Eve message with decorations behind him. The Queen legend simply said in this video: “Merry Christmas folks! Wherever you are…peace!” But it was his video from a little earlier in the week that really had fans getting incredibly excited.

“This is a tease…for something nice which is coming in January. Bri.” The beginning of the mysterious solo sounds a bit like We Are The Champions, while the rock legend shared more in his post caption.
Brian wrote: “This is what’s known in the trade as a ‘STING’ … and hopefully it will ring a bell with you guys early next year - when all will be revealed !! I love going in the studio to make something new - like starting to write words on a crisp new sheet of paper … and in the studio I get lost. For a few moments, I’m immersed in the music we’re fashioning, and that is my entire world. Of course, sometimes I miss my pals … Happy Winter Solstice, folks ! From now on, for those of us in the currently frozen Northern Hemisphere of the Earth, the days get longer, the Sun warms our skin, and Spring is already flexing her wings. Onward !!! Bri.” What could it be? Brian may be working on a new solo project, although the fact he said “the music we’re fashioning” suggests something collaborative.

Freddie Mercury wore the Andy Warhol-inspired image of Marilyn Monroe in Queen's The Miracle music video.
A year after Queen completed their 1986 Magic tour, Freddie Mercury was diagnosed with HIV. Due to his declining health, the band spent the last four years of his life recording two new albums together: 1989’s The Miracle and 1991’s Innuendo. Although they had stopped performing live concerts, they still put out some epic music videos together. (Express report)
As for the album’s title track, Freddie, Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon were joined on a stage by boys dressed as them at Elstree Studios The Queen singer’s costume was a yellow military jacket and a T-shirt with Marilyn Monroe’s face on it, inspired by Andy Warhol’s artwork. This week that very top has sold at auction in Knightsbridge, London for a huge amount of money on the winning bid.
