A song Britney Spears wrote with ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake more than two decades ago has finally been made public.
The pop singer, 44, dropped the song, “She’ll Never Be Me”, ahead of the release of a 25th anniversary edition of her Britney album on November 6. The single sees her criticising an ex for moving on with her doppelganger.
The track, which was originally recorded for her self-titled third album in 2001, was co-written by Spears and three others, including her then-boyfriend, Timberlake.
While Spears has not commented on the release, her official Facebook page teased that “more surprises are coming every week” until her anniversary album edition is released.
Spears co-wrote the song with a trio of collaborators, including then-boyfriend Justin Timberlake. They were joined by Bradley Daymond and Alex Greggs with Riprock ‘n’ Alex G tackling production.
She’ll Never Be Me is the first of five songs Spears is releasing for the first time on the deluxe reissue of Britney.
