When Carrie Fisher was 17, she woke up naked in bed with the singer David Bowie but had taken so many drugs she could not remember whether they had had sex.
“I think we had sex.” the late Fisher is quoted as saying in a new biography. Bowie was married then to Angie Barnett, although he never discussed her during his on-and-off six-week interlude with Fisher.
The American actress best known for playing Princess Leia in the Star Wars series is also said to have had a youthful affair with Freddie Mercury, the lead singer of Queen.
She was introduced to the pair after she attended a party with her mother Debbie Reynolds – who had been invited by Mick Jagger.
The actress reportedly had a clandestine love affair with the rock stars in 1973 when she was in London, training at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. Film historians Darwin Porter and Danforth Prince have made the shocking allegations in a new book on the Star Wars actress who died in 2016 just days after suffering a heart attack.
She also recalled Bowie telling her: 'I’m adored by millions of fans, but I feel at times like I’m all by myself out there on the edge of a cliff that is slowly giving way.'
Mercury had a long-term relationship with Mary Austin but by the late 1970s However during their time together, the flamboyant front man had reportedly also had an affair with Fisher, and the biographers write: ‘In addition to an endless parade of boys and young men on the side, Mercury occasionally seduced a young woman and had a long-time relationship with Mary Austin. ‘Carrie said she didn’t want to interfere with his ongoing love affair, but he dismissed her concerns. “A bloke like me needs extra”.’
