The daughter of Foo Fighters and Nirvana legend Dave announced ‘THUM’ and B-side ‘Applefish’ in an Instagram post on Friday night (December 5). The songs are available as a 7-inch vinyl – which you can find on Bandcamp – while ‘THUM’ is also available for streaming.
While Violet has sometimes performed jazz and folk songs on videos she’s shared to social media, the punchy ‘THUM’ leans into alternative rock, with fans on Reddit comparing the single to Queens Of The Stone Age and Them Crooked Vultures.
