The film follows Melania during the 20-day period before her husband, Donald Trump, was sworn into office for the second time last January.
“Phantom Thread” director Paul Thomas Anderson and Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood have asked for a segment of music from the 2017 film to be removed from the controversial “Melania” documentary.
“It has come to our attention that a piece of music from Phantom Thread has been used in the ‘Melania‘ documentary,” the pair said in a statement, obtained by Variety from Greenwood’s rep. “While Jonny Greenwood does not own the copyright in the score, Universal failed to consult Jonny on this third-party use which is a breach of his composer agreement. As a result Jonny and Paul Thomas Anderson have asked for it to be removed from the documentary.”

“Melania,” which captures the first lady’s life in the 20 days leading up to President Donald Trump’s second inauguration, is expected to bring in $2 million to $5 million across 1,500 locations domestically this weekend, according to data from Boxoffice Pro.
But social-media users have made sure to point out how many opening weekend tickets have gone unsold. Empire 25 in New York City, one of AMC Entertainment’s flagship movie theaters, has sold 11 seats for its first screening, at 7:30 p.m. Eastern time on Friday, for instance.
