Discussing why the record is intentionally minimalist, the Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter said:"There was once a time when albums didn’t need an adjacent story or fable. When the songs were enough. I’m excited to return to this.”
As a preview, he's shared the cut Yard Sale featuring Jack Johnson, an acoustic guitar-led track that Harper explained, “follows a man through the final blurred stages of a breakup. With each passing verse the couple grows further beyond reach or repair. By the song's end, he’s more confused than when the song began.”
This summer, Harper will head to mainland Europe for festival shows and headline appearances. Following that, he'll support The Chicks at select US shows before embarking on his own US tour throughout the fall.
