The singer, 80, could be seen taking a puff of the cigarette at the bash where he was joined by his fashion designer daughter Stella, 51.

A clip of the former Beatles star was shared to Instagram by the Jamaican musician Blvk H3ro (aka Black Hero) according to Dailymail.

Paul, who was dressed in a black coat, looked in good spirits as he mixed and mingled with the other guests.

Paul McCartney has revealed he is growing hemp at his farm - but is having to hide it from teenagers that are looking to get high

Sir Paul is reported to have first quit smoking cigarettes back in the early 1980s. Back in 2015 the star also revealed he had given up smoking marijuana after using the drug on and off for around four decades. The star said he made the decision because he didn't want to set a bad example to his five children and eight grandchildren.

In the photo Sir Paul enjoyed a quick cigarette break as he continued to soak up the sun during his break in St Barts recently.

The former Beatles member spoke on the River Cafe Table 4 podcast. He said: “We grow organic crops, I like doing things like spelt wheat, rye, we grow peas. Before adding, “we’re actually just getting into growing hemp” Express reports

"The funny thing with government regulations is you've got to keep it where people can't see it, because you get all the kids coming in and robbing it!"

Paul also grows hops - from which a local brewer produces the former Beatle's ale, Old Stinkhorn.

Hemp is a plant in the same species as cannabis and can be used to make things such as cosmetics, cloth, printer's ink, rope, wood preservative, detergents, soaps, and lighting oil.

Although, unlike cannabis, hemp contains much lower levels of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). THC is the chemical responsible for most of marijuana's psychological effects.

His love of marijuana led to various run-ins with the law over cannabis possession. These run-ins included one in Sweden in 1972, another in Japan in 1980 and, also, whilst on holiday in Barbados in 1984. He has said he gave up smoking in the 2000s.

The Beatles star said the experience - which came after he had taken drugs - had given him the "sense" that there was "something higher". Speaking to The Sunday Times, he said:

"I once took a drug, DMT... And I saw God, this amazing towering thing, and I was humbled." Describing the encounter as a "clue", rather than a life-changing moment, he added: "It was huge. A massive wall that I couldn't see the top of, and I was at the bottom.god

And anybody else would say it's just the drug, the hallucination, but... we felt we had seen a higher thing." Dimethyltryptamine - or DMT - is a naturally occurring psychedelic that is often inhaled through a pipe, with many users reporting out-of-body experiences and "spiritual" insights.

The 76-year-old singer, who is due to tour his new music, also told the paper of the moment he believed his late wife Linda had "come back to give me a sign" after her death. Describing seeing a white squirrel in the country, he said it was a "great moment", and added that he had allowed himself to believe that lost loved ones were "looking down" on him.

He smoked marijuana on and off for four decades and turned to whisky to cope with the stress of the Beatles breaking up.
Paul McCartney, 76, reveals he only has one glass of wine a week after watching Ringo Starr take his drinking ‘too far’ during the heady Beatlemania days

But Sir Paul McCartney has revealed his wild days are over as he has transformed his lifestyle and now only drinks one glass of wine per week.

He credits his eight grandchildren for keeping him on the straight and narrow as he simply doesn’t have time to enjoy raucous nights out any more.
