David Bowie’s widow Iman has shared her new ‘Blackstar’ tattoo to mark the 10th anniversary of her husband’s death.
That record’s iconic artwork, designed by Bowie’s long-term collaborator Jonathan Barnbrook, has now been further immortalised in a new tattoo on the forearm of Iman, the model and actress who was married to Bowie from 1992 until his death.
“Jan. 10th. The pain didn’t vanish.. It left in its place a loving permanent mark. #BowieForever,” she wrote on Instagram, alongside a video of the body art being applied.

After getting set up on a blind date in 1990, the two fell in love and later tied the knot in 1992. In August 2000, they welcomed daughter Alexandria Zahra Jones.
Over the years, the pair gave us many glimpses of their epic romance as they attended various events together and showed sweet PDA on the red carpet.
Though Bowie died at 69 from cancer on Jan. 10, 2016, Iman has kept their love alive with tributes to her late husband.
"I still feel married," Iman told PEOPLE in November 2021. "Someone a few years ago referred to David as my late husband, and I said, 'No, he's not my late husband. He's my husband.' Through my memory, my love lives."

"David got so used to my cooking that whenever I'd say 'Shall we order tonight?' He'd say 'You're not cooking?'"
Most nights meant Iman's home-cooked dinners. "I'm one of those people that can read a recipe and cook it and not stress over it," says Iman. "Roast chicken with herbs for Sunday dinner. On Saturdays, he loved English breakfast, with bacon and sausage — both my daughter [Alexandria 'Lexi'] and David." 
Says Iman, "David got so used to my cooking that whenever I'd say 'Shall we order tonight?' He'd say 'You're not cooking?' He was always in the kitchen with me. He couldn't cook. He would burn water but he'd put music on and we'd dance, the three of us."

When Kotb asked what one of Iman’s greatest wishes is, she got emotional before admitting, “If there is an afterlife, I’d like to see my husband again. That’s the one I want.”
