The album consists of nine re-imagined Meditation Mixes of John Lennon’s classic 1971 ballad, “Love”, from the album John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band.
Side B on LP3 features nine unique 1.8 second mantras that play continuously in the vinyl’s run out grooves to create infinite loops. It follows the release of nine re-imagined Meditation Mixes of John Lennon’s classic 1973 peace-and-love anthem, “Mind Games” on vinyl and via the consciousness-expanding photo app, Lumenate, released last year on John’s birthday, October 9th.
Sean Ono Lennon says, “After the surprising success of the Mind Games Meditation Mixes, and our collaboration with Lumenate the Meditation App, we are very pleased to bring you Volume Two – a collection of Ambient reimaginings of John Lennon’s classic song, to create a meditation of ‘Love’.
To create LOVE (Meditation Mixes) various sound design techniques and processes have been applied to the original 1970 one-inch multitrack recordings, and in some cases have been enhanced with additional instrumentation from Sean Ono Lennon, son of John Lennon and Yoko Ono Lennon. They were mixed and engineered by Sam Gannon with additional recording engineered by Scott Holingsworth and mastered by Alex Wharton at Abbey Road Studios. Production Management by Simon Hilton.
