Depp, an accomplished guitarist and vocalist on top of his decades-long acting career, could be seen performing a song with Sandra during the Monday night event honoring the late Yardbirds guitarist, who died of bacterial meningitis in January 2023. Musicians Toby Lee and Anika Nilles, the latter of whom formerly played drums for Beck's live band, also joined Depp and other musicians for a night of performances, hosted by singer and songwriter Imelda May.
Beck and Depp first met in 2016 and quickly struck a friendship. They released a studio album together, titled 18, in July 2022, several months before Beck's death. The pair set out on a tour to promote the album as well, with Beck stating in a release at the time of the album's announcement that he had not "had another creative partner like [Depp] for ages."
"It's an extraordinary honor to play and write music with Jeff, one of the true greats and someone I am now privileged enough to call my brother," Depp said of working with and getting to know Beck at the time. Following the musician's death, a source told PEOPLE that Depp was "totally devastated" and noted that Depp "was by Jeff's bedside" in the days before he died.

To celebrate the guitarist, a few months after his death, two concerts were held in London. A star-studded line-up had sparkled for two London concerts paying tribute to Jeff Beck. Johnny Depp and Rod Stewart are featured on the line-up of guest performers.
Among all this stars Sir Rod Stewart and Rolling Stones star Ronnie Wood ere reunited on stage. The pals, who played together in The Faces, were at the Royal Albert Hall to perform in memory of their talented friend, who they said helped them in their careers. The rockers spoke to the crowd and remembered the guitarist.
Other artists who have reportedly expressed their interest to be involved include Clapton, Johnny Depp, Billy Gibbons, Imelda May, John McLaughlin, Robert Randolph, Olivia Safe, Rod Stewart, Joss Stone, Gary Clark Jr, Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks.
Beck reached a postumous goal at 2023 Grammy Awards for a guest spot on Ozzy Osbourne’s 2022 album Patient Number 9 in a category that nearly eluded him his entire career.
Beck earned 16 nominations and eight wins across 11 ceremonies. He won three times in 2010: Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals (“Imagine”), Best Pop Instrumental Performance (“Nessun Dorma”), and Best Rock Instrumental Performance (“Hammerhead”).
