Taylor Swift‘s global Eras Tour brought millions of fans together, but it also pulled Kesha and her ex-boyfriend apart, the “TikTok” singer revealed.
On a new episode of Call Her Daddy posted Wednesday (May 6), Kesha told the story — which Swift apparently played a big part in, indirectly — of the only time someone has broken up with her. “I’ve only gotten dumped actually one time,” she told host Alex Cooper. “The guy I was dating, I kind of thought he was probably a star-f–ker, and I was like, ‘I’m just going to test this theory.'”
“So I went to the Eras [Tour],” the hitmaker continued. “After the tour, there was a little party, and I was just like, ‘I’m going to pop in, take my girl friend. I’m not going to take the boyfriend, let’s see how this goes.'”
Despite having dated him for a year and a half at that point, Kesha said, “That dude came over the next day, dropped the keys off, and that was that.”
“I was like, ‘Have you no shame? Couldn’t you wait, like, 11 days or something?'” she added, laughing. “Tantrum. I mean, if you’re going to do it over anybody, Taylor Swift is the one to do it over.”
Kesha thanks 'idiot ex' for inspiring her. The 38-year-old has been teasing the track for a while, hinting that her ex might have something to be worried about.
Earlier in the week she tweeted, "My ex should hide on friday."
She then shared a clip snippet of the song, captioning it: "Thanks to my idiot ex. u inspired my best song yet."
The singer hasn't released any details about who her ex is, or when they split up.
Earlier in the year she told Elle how a boyfriend had broken up with her because she took someone else to one of Taylor Swift's parties.
"I had a feeling that he was in it for the wrong reasons and was a bit of a starf**ker," she told ELLE.
"I decided to test that theory and took one of my friends instead of him to Taylor Swift's party. He came over the next day and broke up with me."
She didn't name the man in question but she has been linked to health-tech entrepreneur Michael Gilvary and film producer Riccardo Maddalosso in the past year.
Kesha is facing a backlash from fans after the cover for her new single ‘Delusional’ was accused of using AI-generated artwork.
Elsewhere, one quipped that “a selfie would’ve been better”, while many others simply questioned why she allegedly didn’t reach out to a real artist or photographer to get the shot.
On Twitter/X, another criticised Kesha for the seemingly-AI cover single, writing: “kesha ilysm but never use ai ever again… not only it has many errors, it is also disrespectful to designers… This post is not meant to hate on kesha. I love this woman so much, it’s just necessary to call artists out when they do something not cool.”
