The singer and guitarist of Muse, who cited George Orwell's book several times, set the audio version to music with composer Ilan Henry Eshkeri. The music was recorded by the London Metropolitan Orchestra at Abbey Road studios.
The audiobook, which will be released on April 4, is narrated by Andrew Garfield (Hacksaw Ridge, The Amazing Spider-Man) with Cynthia Erivo (Harriet, Genius: Aretha), Andrew Scott (Fleabag, Sherlock), Tom Hardy ( Revenant, Black Hawk Down).
The atmospheres and ideas of Orwell's novel often return to Muse's repertoire and Bellamy cited the book when talking about the Trump presidency. 1984 is in particular the main source of inspiration for Muse's 2009 album The Resistance not only for the political scenario, but also for the story between Winston and Julia.
