This 2025 edition will see the MPA presenting a series of launch events, taking place in New York, including a special exhibit featuring MPA Icon award winners (and legendary music photographers) Henry Diltz and Jill Furmanovksy, Variety reports.
The curated collection will be on view from May 28 through June 3 at Morrison Hotel Gallery in New York’s SoHo neighborhood, with an exclusive reception on May 29th.
Diltz shot more than 250 album covers since the 1960s, including the Doors’ classic “Morrison Hotel” album (above), as well as iconic photos of Jimi Hendrix (pictured below at Woodstock), Neil Young, Kurt Cobain, Joni Mitchell, Janis Joplin and countless others.
The collection will also include work by photographer and director Christaan Felber (whose photo of Mac Miller appears above), who was nominated for an MPA in 2024, and Rolling Stone’s Deputy Photo Editor Sacha Lecha.
