Bebe Rexha has showed off her black eye with stitches after she got hit by a phone that had been flung from the crowd, resulting in the gig being cancelled and her needing medical attention, according to Metro.

Unfortunately, this kind of thing isn’t uncommon, with various icons fromBeyonce to The Beatles suffering at the hands of fans pelting things as they perform.

Remeber when Ariana Grande was the victim of a lemon being pelted at her while she was on stage for Coachella 2019? She was, quite rightly, fuming.
‘What the f**k? That’s ’cause one of y’all threw a lemon at me. S**t!’
While often harmless, some injuries are more serious with artists hospitalised or at the very least unable to continue performing due to being hit by projectiles.
In 2004, David Bowie was performing at the Norwegian Wood Festival in Oslo, Norway when he got hit in the eye with a rogue lollipop, stick-side, making contact with his left eye.

Legend has it that he chastised the crowd and said: ‘Yeah, let’s do that again all-f***ing-right. Where are you, f***ing creep?’
Bowie’s eyes were already the subject of much focus as there was a common misconception that he had heterochromia – two different eye colours.
In fact, the singer suffered from anisocoria, which meant his one pupil was heavily dilated, thanks to an old injury from a fight with school friend and artistic partner George Underwood over a girl.
In regards to the lollipop incident, Bowie told the crowd: ‘Do remember I’ve only got one anyway. Fortunately, that’s the one that works.
‘The other one has just become a little bit more decorative than it was before… lucky you hit the bad one. Please keep your affection to yourself.’

Rarely do artists get hurt so badly they need stitches but Mick Jagger was hospitalised after someone decided to throw a chair at him.
The 1966 concert in Marseilles, France had been going well with no major mix-ups or issues until the very last song when madness seemed to take over the crowd.
Mick was left with a large shiner and needed eight stitches after someone decided to throw a chair at the Rolling Stones for some unknown reason.
The chair hit Mick right in the face as he sang Satisfaction to finish the night and the singer was taken to hospital to patch up his face.
This wasn’t the first time he had been attacked while on stage either as in 1965 he took a sharpened coin to the face, millimetres from his eye.
Ultimate boy band, The Beatles, were used to having things thrown at them while performing on stage – usually underwear from adoring fans.

However, on their first-ever tour of the US in 1964, the quartet was pelted with Jelly Beans when they took to the stage, although none were injured seriously.
Harrison’s love of Jelly Babies prompted the bizarre pelting
The bizarre phenomenon came after George Harrison said Jelly Babies were his favourite during an interview, leading to the squidgy sweet being thrown on stage by British fans.
Once they hit American soil, they thought the sweets would stop but instead, Americans opted for the much harder Jelly Bean.
‘They don’t have soft jelly babies there; they have hard jelly beans. To make matters worse, we were on a circular stage, so they hit us from all sides. Imagine waves of rock-hard little bullets raining down on you from the sky,’ Harrison said according to The Beatles Off The Record by Keith Badman.
