Neil Young and the Chrome Hearts haven’t made a live appearance since the Painted Turtle benefit in October 2025 and cancelled plans for a European tour this summer. Now, the band is set to make their return to the concert stage on Sept. 26 when Farm Aid comes to the Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater in Virginia Beach.
The fundraiser for American family farmers will touch down at Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater on Sept. 26, with sets from board members Willie Nelson, Neil Young (& the Chrome Hearts band), John Mellencamp, Dave Matthews (with Tim Reynolds), Margo Price and Nathaniel Rateliff.
Joining them this year will be Turnpike Troubadours, Lukas Nelson, Mike Campbell & The Dirty Knobs, Jesse Welles, Sierra Ferrell, Mon Rovîa, I’m With Her, Amythyst Kiah, Lily Meola and Chris Pierce. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Friday (June 12) at 10 a.m. ET via Farm Aid’s website and the box office. A limited number of tickets will be available in a presale beginning at 10 a.m. ET on Wednesday (June 10).
Last year’s 40th anniversary Farm Aid took place in Minneapolis, and in addition to its founders, it featured sets from Bob Dylan, Kenny Chesney, Billy Strings, Rateliff & the Night Sweats, Lukas Nelson, Trampled by Turtles, Wynonna Judd, Steve Earle, Waxahatchee, Eric Burton of Black Pumas, Welles, Madeline Edwards and the Wisdom Indian Dancers. Neil Young came out after Dylan and played a politically-charged set that opened with his anti-Trump screed “Big Crime” before ripping through “Rockin’ In The Free World,” “Long Walk Home,” “Be The Rain,” “Southern Man,” “Hey Hey, My My (Into The Black),” and “Old Man.”
As always, Willie Nelson closed out the show with a set of classics. Nearly every guest from throughout the day came out for “Will the Circle Be Unbroken?” “It’s Hard To Be Humble,” and “I’ll Fly Away.” Unsurprisingly, Bob Dylan was the lone holdout.
