The deluxe edition of Vol III comes in the same packaging as the previous deluxe versions (if you aren’t sure of the difference, see the Vol II SDE unboxing comparison video below) which is the massive ‘vertical’ box which comes with a 160-page book and a fold-out archives poster.
The five blu-rays are exclusive to the deluxe edition and contain 11 full length films (over 14 hours of material) and include the previously unreleased Across The Water, Boarding House, Trans and Catalyst. Plus rare films Muddy Track, In A Rusted Out Garage, Solo Trans, Human Highway and A Treasure.
The standard 17CD box set omits the blu-rays and swaps the 160-page book for a a 36-page booklet. It will feature much reduced packaging, consistent with the standard editions of I and II.
The 17 CDs in both sets come in 11 ‘soft-paks’ (presumably the gatefold card sleeves that NY has used for a long time) while the five blu-rays in the deluxe edition come in three ‘soft-paks’.
The deluxe editions are limited to 5,000 units worldwide and they are ONLY shipping from USA and Canada. Anyone outside USA and Canada has to order from the US Greedy Hand shop, which unfortunately means we have to worry about extra import duties on top of the $450 retail price (although you do get free international shipping). If you recall, the 3,000 copies of the deluxe of Vol II sold out in a matter of days.
The standard 17CD version should be widely available, and by way of comparison is currently $240 on Amazon.com.
